The blast came a day after the army fought Boko Haram militants west of Maiduguri, capital of Borno state. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Locals said they had heard an exchange of gunfire along with explosions on Sunday, just after prayers at the mosque ended. At least 15 people were killed in suicide bomb attacks. Meanwhile in Dawari village, Boko Haram killed a number of people, including the headman and his children.
