(VOVworld) – Russia, Iran, and Turkey agreed on Tuesday a mechanism to observe and ensure full compliance with the ongoing ceasefire at the Syrian peace talks in Astana, Kazakhstan.

They are working to finalize a closing statement, which Syrian opposition forces have refused to sign due to suspicions of the talks’ outcomes. The Syrian government has also ruled out its intention to sign the document.
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry said the peace talks saw war of words among parties involved but sponsors agreed to double their efforts to maintain the shaky ceasefire.
