(VOVworld) - A delegation of Military Zone 7, the Steering Committee for the Central Highlands and Southwestern region and Binh Duong provincial leaders delivered gifts worth 30,000 USD this week to soldiers and civilians in Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province. The delegation held a New Year Press Festival in the district displaying more than 50 newspapers plus 700 other publications and CDs. Le Hoang Quan,  Chairman of HCM City’s People’s Committee says: "This activity was aimed at enriching the lives of people on the island and demonstrating the sentiments of mainland people toward those on the island".

In Can Tho city, the city’s Military Command launched several activities to welcome the traditional lunar New Year festival, which falls on February 10. In Hanoi, a week-long program welcoming Tet will be held in Ho Tay park.
