(VOVworld)- Overnight protests continue in the capital city of Bangkok, Thailand. Protest leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thausuban said that the only path Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra can take is to resign within the next 3 days and protests will disperse as a result. Prime Minister Yingluck announced earlier that she will act as Prime Minister in accordance with the decree of Thailand’s King, as stipulated in clause 181 of the Constitution. The Election Commission of Thailand will conduct a general election on February 2. Some legal experts say that dissolving the National Assembly and the Prime Minister’s resignation would violate Thai Law and that Suthep’s demand to establish a People’s National Assembly is nonsense. The current Constitution was adopted in 2007 after a military coup in 2006.
