Thailand, Cambodia agree to unconditional ceasefire

(VOVWORLD) -Cambodia and Thailand have reached a general agreement on an immediate and unconditional ceasefire effective from 24 hour on Monday, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s statement came after Thailand’s acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet met on Monday in Malaysia’s administrative capital of Putrajaya for talks to end a five-day conflict between the two neighbors.

The Malaysian Prime Minister mediated and chaired the meeting. US Ambassador to Malaysia Edgard D. Kagan and his Chinese counterpart Ouyang Yujing were also present.
