At 4 P.M. on Friday, the aircraft carrying the Buddha’s relic from Hanoi landed at Da Nang International Airport. Shortly after that, a ceremonial motorcade began its journey through the city’s main thoroughfares, before reaching Quan The Am Pagoda in Ngu Hanh Son district where the relic is enshrined for veneration.

Venerable Thich Tu Nghiem, head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Da Nang said “This is a profoundly significant event. For thousands of years, the Buddha's Sarira has traveled the world, and it is an honor for Vietnam to welcome it from the south, north, and now the central region. Da Nang city is honored to receive such great blessings.”

The veneration program at Quan The Am Pagoda will continue until noon on Monday, after which a farewell ceremony will be held to return the relic to India via Da Nang International Airport.

The Sarira was brought to Vietnam from India on May 2 for the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak. Since then it has been enshrined at several major pagodas across the country, offering the Vietnamese public a rare and profound opportunity for spiritual connection.
