(VOVWORLD) - The Trump administration has ordered a review of all refugees admitted to the US during the Biden administration, which could affect more than 200,000 legal immigrants.
It called for “a comprehensive review and a re-interview of all refugees admitted from January 20, 2021, to February 20, 2025,” including green-card holders.
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services were told that the Biden administration possibly prioritized expediency and quantity of admissions over quality interviews and detailed screening and vetting.
Applicants who are found by the re-review not to meet the definition of a refugee will have no right to appeal the decision, and they and other family members will lose their immigration status. They will, however, have the right to defend themselves in court.
