US extends trade embargo against Cuba for another year
(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump signed a decree extending the 1962 trade embargo against Cuba for one more year, the White House said Monday.
Trump said the embargo remains in the national interest of the US. In 2015, the US and Cuba restored diplomatic ties under President Barack Obama, but in 2017 President Trump decided to continue the embargo on Cuba.
