US President Trump reaffirms US–Iran talks

(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Washington and Iran are “negotiating right now,” raising expectations of a possible agreement to ease tensions, although Iran continues to deny direct talks.

Speaking at the Oval Office, Trump said the decision to pause attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure was due to diplomatic progress. He added that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are involved in the negotiations.

He also revealed that Iran has made a “major concession” in the energy sector, describing it as a positive signal amid ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency issued an urgent appeal calling on all parties to avoid actions that could endanger nuclear facilities, following reports that Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant had been targeted by airstrikes.
