The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian and US delegations are scheduled to meet on Sunday in Saudi Arabia. Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry representative, Georgy Tykhy, said that the talks would take place at a hotel in Riyadh. The Ukrainian delegation has no plans for direct contact with Russia.
Meanwhile, Russia said that it is preparing for consultations with the US in Riyadh on Sunday. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed that the Russian delegation will be led by Senator Grigory Karasin and Federal Security Service (FSB) advisor Sergei Beseda.
The nearly simultaneous separate meetings between the US and Ukraine and Russia in Saudi Arabia have raised hopes for a potential diplomatic breakthrough.
