US pushes for Ukraine peace deal by August 8
(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump has made clear that he wants a deal to end Russia’s conflict in Ukraine by August 8, a US official told the United Nations Security Council on Thursday.

“Russia and Ukraine must negotiate a ceasefire and a durable peace. It’s time to make a deal. President Trump has made clear this must be done by August 8. The US is prepared to implement additional measures to secure peace,” senior US diplomat John Kelley told the 15-member council.
Trump said Tuesday that the US will begin imposing tariffs and other measures on Russia if there is no sign of progress toward ending the conflict.
