Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan is welcomed in Nepal, August 23, 2025.

This marks the first-ever visit by a Vietnamese Vice President to Nepal and the highest-level Vietnamese leadership visit since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1975.

During her stay, Vice President Xuan will hold talks with Vice President Yadav, pay courtesy calls on other senior leaders, meet with the Vietnamese community, and attend activities marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Over the past five decades, Vietnam and Nepal have maintained traditional friendship and cooperation. While bilateral trade remains modest, it has been growing steadily, with annual turnover reaching around 100 million USD. Vietnamese products—particularly agricultural, aquatic, food, industrial, and consumer goods—are increasingly present in the Nepalese market.
