Vietnam and Israel work more closely in science and technology

State President Truong Tan Sang held talks with Israeli President Shimon Peres in Hanoi on Wednesday during his first official visit to Vietnam. Sang briefed his guest about Vietnam’s achievements recorded during the renewal process, saying the country stands firmly on the diplomatic policy of being a reliable friend and partner of all nations and constantly striving for peace, independence and development. He added that Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening relationship with Western Asian countries, including Israel. Vietnam supports dialogues as a peaceful solution to resolving conflicts, including the conflict between Israel and Palestine, on the basis of the international laws and respecting legitimate interests of relevant parties. The two leaders expressed pleasure over the increasingly developed multi-faceted co-operation between the two countries and are determined to work more closely in science and technology, agriculture, trade, investment and tourism. They also exchanged views on international issues of mutual concern and vowed to work harder for peace, stability, co-operation and development. State President Truong Tan Sang accepted President Shimon Peres’ invitation to visit Israel.
