(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Singapore jointly won the overall first prize at the 2025 Vietnam International Mathematics Competition (VIMC) held in Da Nang from August 15–18.

The Vietnamese team delivered an impressive performance, earning 18 individual awards, including 6 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
Mai Quang Huy, a representative of the VIMC 2025 judging panel, noted that this year’s exam was more challenging than previous editions, covering a wide range of mathematical fields. He said that the highlights were not only accurate solutions but also creative thinking.
The mathematical competition also serves as a cultural exchange fostering friendships and inspiring a passion for knowledge among young participants.
The closing ceremony marked the handover of the hosting flag for IMC 2026 to Mongolia, reaffirming the rotation system and the enduring vitality of the competition, which connects young mathematicians worldwide.
The International Mathematics Competition (IMC) rotates among member countries and is open to outstanding middle school students from over 40 countries and territories. With its scale, prestige, and quality, IMC is considered one of the world’s leading intellectual arenas for young mathematicians today.
