Vietnam asks Belgium to ratify EVIPA this year

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son on Friday called on Belgium to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) within this year, which will help protect the interest of and encourage Belgian enterprises to boost investment in Vietnam.

At a meeting with President of Belgium Chamber of Representatives Peter De Roover at the 2nd Global Gateway Forum in Brussels, Mr. Son also asked Belgium to support Vietnam in developing its marine economy and advocate for the lifting of the European Commission (EC)’s “yellow card” warning on Vietnamese seafood products. 
Mr. De Roover said Belgium values its multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade, investment, high-tech agriculture, sea-ports, logistics, and climate change.
