Vietnam, Australia see opportunities in trade, investment, education cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -RMIT University and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs Office in Victoria co-organized a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-Australia diplomatic relations in Melbourne.

Assistant Minister for Trade and Assistant Minister for Manufacturing Tim Ayers said that over the past five decades Australia and Vietnam has recorded various achievements, notably in trade relations in recent years.
The success of RMIT University and other Australian educational institutions in Vietnam shows that both countries have a lot of potential for investment and education cooperation. Australia and Vietnam share a lot of similarities, including a commitment to regional stability, peace, resilience and prosperity. The Australian administration sees that engagement with ASEAN is a focus in its external policy.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Tat Thanh said that Vietnam wants to become a better partner of Australia and believes that Australia also has the same desire. He expressed his hope that the two countries will contribute more to regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.
