Minister Giang is on an official visit to Cambodia, where he also attended a meeting of the Defense Ministers of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and witnessed a joint search and rescue exercise by the three armies.

General Giang said Vietnam always gives strong support to the Cambodian People's Party and to an independent, peaceful, and developing Cambodia that plays an increasingly important role on the international stage.

He informed Prime Minister Manet of the results of his meeting earlier in the day with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Tea Seiha, where both sides reviewed recent bilateral defense cooperation and signed a protocol for defense cooperation in the 2025-2029 period, along with a cooperation plan for 2025.

PM Manet applauded the strengthened relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam in all fields and expressed his gratitude for Vietnam’s continued support for Cambodia in its struggle for national liberation, escape from a genocidal regime, and national construction and development.

Cambodia will work with Vietnam, he said, to protect, preserve, and nurture their relationship and take it to new heights. The Prime Minister emphasized that Cambodia-Vietnam defense cooperation has become more extensive, effective, and substantive, continuing to strengthen its position as one of the key pillars of bilateral relations.
