(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam took away a number of prestigious prizes at the awards ceremony of the 31st World Travel Awards (WTA) 2024, which was held in Portugal on November 24, including the title the World's Leading Heritage Destination for the 5th consecutive time since 2019.

Vietnam has surpassed strong candidates, including Armenia, Brazil, Egypt, Greece, Japan, and Saudi Arabia to win this title.
The capital Hanoi was named the World's Leading City Tourist Board, the Asia’s Leading City Destination, and Asia’s Leading City Break Destination.
Phu Quoc was honoured as the World's Leading Iconic Tourist Attraction, marking the third time the pearl island has been presented with the prestigious title.
Hoi An Memories Land was named as the World's Leading Cultural Tourism & Entertainment Complex for the third year in a row.
The northern province of Ha Nam grabbed the Special Achievement Award, while its Tam Chuc Complex won the Asia's Leading Cultural Tourist Attraction.
Tam Dao in the northern mountainous province of Vinh Phuc won the World's Leading Town Destination.
