Vietnam co-chairs 5th ASEAN–UK Joint Cooperation Committee meeting
(VOVWORLD) - The 5th meeting of the ASEAN–UK Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Wednesday, co-chaired by the Vietnamese and United Kingdom’s Missions to ASEAN, to review the results of cooperation over the past five years and identify directions for strengthening ties in the coming period.

UK Ambassador to ASEAN Helen Fazey said that ASEAN is a reliable and constructive partner and a central pillar in the UK’s Indo-Pacific strategy.
She reiterated the UK’s commitment to supporting ASEAN centrality as a foundation for regional peace and stability, and to strengthening long-term and trusted relations that deliver tangible benefits to all 11 member states.
Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, head of the Vietnamese Mission to ASEAN, reiterated that Vietnam will closely work with other ASEAN member states to develop a substantive new ASEAN–UK Plan of Action for the 2027–2031 period and finalize a joint ASEAN–UK statement on cooperation under the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific.
