The Vietnam Tourism-Cinema Promotion Program themed "Vietnam - New destination of world cinema" is scheduled to take place from September 23 to 25 in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, USA, said the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Ministry told a press conference on Monday in Hanoi that there will be four main activities to promote the beauty of the country, people, tourism and cinema potential of Vietnam as well as cooperation with the United States.

The program is expected to attract over 450 guests who are government representatives, managers, business-people, investors, producers, directors of studios and Hollywood stars, representatives of the Motion Picture Association, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, online travel platforms and social networking platforms.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho An Phong said: “We believe that through films shot in Vietnam, international audiences will not only experience the natural beauty, culture and people of Vietnam in the most vivid and intimate way, but also push up the demand for tourism. We look forward to receiving cooperation from international film partners, especially from the United States. Vietnam is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for foreign crews to come to Vietnam to carry out their projects."

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper said cinema has great power in boosting tourism and the Vietnam Tourism-Cinema Promotion Program will help bring Vietnam's images closer to audiences in the United States and connect Vietnamese businesses and tourism service providers with their American partners.
