Vietnam, France enhance transport cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised France's strengths in the transport sector and emphasized that there is still significant potential for cooperation between the two sides.

During a meeting on Friday with visiting French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot, Mr. Chinh encouraged French businesses to enhance cooperation and investment in Vietnam, particularly in large infrastructure projects.

He proposed collaboration with Airbus on technology transfer, aircraft maintenance facilities at Vietnamese airports, and the development of the underground, maritime, and aerospace projects. The PM also suggested expanding direct shipping routes between Vietnam and France and enhancing public-private partnerships for road development.

Minister Tabarot conveyed President Emmanuel Macron’s high regard for Vietnam and his eagerness to visit Hanoi at a convenient time. Tabarot affirmed that France is always ready to cooperate with Vietnam, particularly in strategic transport infrastructure projects, as well as in human resources training and experience sharing.
