Vietnam, Laos Prime Ministers co-chair 2025 Investment Cooperation Conference
(VOVWORLD) - As part of the 47th session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee on Bilateral Cooperation, Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone co-chaired the Vietnam-Laos Investment Cooperation Conference 2025 on Thursday in Vientiane, Laos.

The conference, organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with its Lao counterpart, carried the theme: "Promoting Sustainable Development and Prosperity."

In his remarks, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính emphasized the strong solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, stressing that their shared development and national interests must be prioritized above all else.
He encouraged businesses from both countries to work together for mutual growth and to honor the sacrifices of those who fought for the independence and freedom of both nations.
The Prime Minister highlighted the natural and cultural advantages of Vietnam and Laos, such as their interconnected geography and shared potential, while noting that their development has yet to fully capitalize on these strengths and opportunities.
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone reaffirmed the commitment to overcoming obstacles and accelerating key joint projects, including road and railway networks, the Vung Ang Port, and agricultural production initiatives.
He expressed hope that businesses from both countries would continue investing in each other's economies, harnessing their potential to bring prosperity and happiness to their people.
