The GSO said this year’s census is one of its three large-scale national censuses with strategic significance and will help refine Vietnam's economic information system.
It aims to obtain comprehensive, objective, and updated data on economic establishments nationwide, including companies, public service units, associations, religious institutions, and business households. The census will cover a broad range of demographics.
GSO Director General Nguyen Thi Huong said the survey results will help assess the current state of Vietnam's economy and inform socio-economic development policies at central and local levels in the coming time. "We are well prepared and made many updates to this census. IT has been applied to ensure transparent, effective, and efficient data sharing and processing," she added.
