Vietnam records 16,000 COVID-19 cases on Saturday

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam recorded 15,895 new infections, of which 12 were imported and 15,883 were recorded domestically in 60 provinces and cities for 24 hours until 4pm on Saturday.

During the day, 1,645 patients recovered, raising the total number of cured cases to 1,097,163 cases. There were 248 deaths. The death toll from COVID-19 in Vietnam so far is 29,351, accounting for 2% of the total number of infections.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 1,524,368 infections, ranking 32 out of 223 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 148 out of 223 countries and territories.

More than 137.5 million doses of vaccine have been administered nationwide, including 75.6 million first doses (97% of population aged 18 years and older), 60.7 million second doses (81.6% of population aged 18 years and older), and 1.1 million third doses.
