Vietnam records 24,000 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

(VOVWORLD) -From 4pm on Tuesday to 4pm on Wednesday, Vietnam recorded 23,956 new cases of COVID-19, the highest number of daily infections since the onset of the pandemic.

Of the new cases, 3 were imported and 23,953 were recorded domestically in 62 provinces and cities. Vietnam has so far detected a total of 2,404,651 cases of COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, an additional 69,825 patients were announced recover from COVID-19, raising the total number of recoveries to 2,196,602. There were 93 more deaths.

As of Wednesday, Vietnam administered a total of 183,729,446 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. 52 out of 63 provinces and cities achieved the second dose vaccination rate of above 90%. 16,328,693 doses vaccines were given to children aged 12-17.
