(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese athletes claimed 3 more gold medals in esports, athletics, and kickboxing at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) in Thailand on Tuesday.

Kickboxer Hoang Thi Thuy Giang defeated her Myanmar opponent to win gold in the women’s 50kg point fighting event. In esports, the women’s Arena of Valor team secured gold with a dominant 4-0 victory over Laos.

Earlier, runner Nguyen Thi Oanh finished first in the women’s 3,000m with a time of 10 minutes 13.75 seconds. The victory marked her 15th SEA Games gold medal overall and her third at SEA Games 33.

On the same day, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafsström congratulated Vietnam’s men’s and women’s football teams on qualifying for the SEA Games 33 finals, wishing them continued success. Grafsström praised the recent progress of Vietnamese football, expressing confidence that with a systematic, professional, and sustainable development approach, the sport will continue to advance.

Vietnam’s U22 team will face host Thailand in the men’s football final on Thursday, while the women’s team will meet the Philippines in the final on Wednesday.
