During a year-end review and planning conference held in Hanoi on Monday, the Ministry said a focus will be placed on connecting the eastern section of the North-South expressway. The Ministry aims to finalize several expressway projects, with the goal of putting 3,000 kilometers of expressways into operation.
The completion of the Ho Chi Minh Road connection and the Long Thanh International Airport are high on the agenda, to ensure smooth, safe, convenient transport services across Vietnam.
For 2025, the Ministry projects a 9% increase in freight volume and an 8% rise in passengers compared to 2024. Maritime transport should see a 4% hike, with an estimated 900 million tons of goods passing through Vietnam’s seaports.
