(VOVWORLD) -30 years after the normalization of relations, Vietnam–US bilateral trade has surged from just half a billion USD in 1994 to nearly 150 billion USD in 2024, an almost 300-fold increase.

The statistics was released at the Vietnam-US Trade Forum 2025, themed “30 years of economic and trade cooperation–overcoming challenges toward a new era,” in Ho Chi Minh city on Wednesday.
The forum, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam), marked 30 years since the normalization of Vietnam–US relations and 25 years since the signing of the Bilateral Trade Agreement.

Participants discussed future cooperation orientations that ensure balanced interests and enhanced sustainability.
As an important policy dialogue channel, the Vietnam-US Trade Forum 2025 contributes to shared understanding and substantive cooperation among stakeholders, generating more cooperation opportunities and solidifying the foundation for stable, sustainable, and mutually beneficial Vietnam–US economic and trade relations.
