(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese athletes have won two bronze medals at the 15th Asian Shooting Championship in Changwon, the Republic of Korea.

The 19th Asian Games champion Pham Quang Huy and his teammates Lai Cong Minh and Phan Cong Minh grabbed a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team after scoring a total of 1,736 points, behind Korean and Chinese marksmen 10 and 14 points respectively.
However, the ASIAD gold medalist only finished nine in the men’s 10m air pistol in the preliminary round, failing to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
Meanwhile, Trinh Thu Vinh took a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol, winning a ticket to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Pham Quang Huy snatched a gold medal for Vietnam in the men’s 10m air pistol at the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD) recently held in Hangzhou, China. He also joined his teammates Lai Cong Minh and Phan Cong Minh in scoring a bronze medal in the team’s 10m air pistol at ASIAD 19.
The 15th Asian Shooting Championship is taking place in Changwon, RoK, from Sunday to next Thursday, attracting 813 marksmen from 30 countries and territories.
Gold medal events include 50m rifle 3 positions for both men and women, 10m air rifle for both men and women, 10m air pistol for both men and women, Women’s 25m sports pistol, Men’s 25m rapid fire pistol, trap for both men and women, skeet for both men and women, 10m air rifle mixed team, 10m air pistol mixed team, trap mixed team, and skeet mixed team.
Many marksmen are eyeing the Asian championship to qualify for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
