The Embassy has requested information from Syrian authorities regarding Vietnamese nationals who may be residing, working, or studying in Syria, urging them to implement measures to ensure their safety.
Emergency contact numbers for the Embassy have been shared with both Syrian authorities and the public.
The Embassy is also coordinating with the Philippine Embassies in Iran and Syria to seek additional assistance for citizen protection. The Philippines has already begun evacuating its citizens from Syria.
Given the escalating conflict between rebel forces and the Syrian government, the Embassy strongly advises Vietnamese nationals to avoid traveling to Syria. Those currently in the country are urged to evacuate immediately, either to a third country or back to Vietnam
