Vietnam’s 79th National Day celebrated in US, Venezuela
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese embassy in the US on Thursday held a ceremony to mark Vietnam’s 79th National Day with the participation of US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, and representatives from government agencies, Congress, ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, international organizations, as well as Vietnamese businesses and people in the host country.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung delivered a speech highlighting Vietnam's key milestones and significant achievements in the national construction and defence over the past 79 years. He also emphasized the progress and outcomes the US-Vietnam multifaceted cooperation since the two countries normalized relations in 1995, including the establishment of a Comprehensive Partnership in 2013, and a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023.
US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell congratulated Vietnam on its 79th National Day and its achievements.
He reaffirmed the importance of the relationship between the two countries and expressed his pleasure with the progress made in recent times, especially after the upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Mr. Campbell emphasized that the US will continue to closely cooperate with Vietnam to effectively implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework and prepare thoroughly for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela on Thursday hosted a ceremony to mark the occasion. The event was attended by Rander Peña, Vice President of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto, Saúl Ortega, Chairman of the Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group as well as representatives from ministries, agencies, ambassadors, and heads of international organizations in Venezuela.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto emphasized the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam, initiated by the late President Hugo Chávez and being further developed by President Nicolas Maduro and the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.
