Vietnam's economy maintains growth pace in July

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam's economy maintained its growth pace in July and in the first seven months of the year, creating growth momentum in the coming months, according to a General Statistics Office report released on Monday.

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased 0.7% against June and 11.2% against the same period last year. The IIP in the past seven months soared 8.5% against last year.  

In seven months, Vietnam had 95,000 newly registered enterprises and 44,000 businesses resumed operation, raising the total number of enterprises to 139,500.

As of July 20, Vietnam had attracted 18 billion USD in Foreign Direct Investment, up 11% from last year.

The highlight of Vietnam’s economic picture in July was a trade turnover of 69.7 billion USD, up 22% from last year. Overall Vietnam earned 440 billion USD from exports in the first seven months, up 17%.
