Heavy to very heavy downpours are forecast until late Friday night, with rainfall totals ranging from 150–300 mm across northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An — and locally exceeding 450 mm.
Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, said that in the Red River Delta, including Hanoi, rainfall will intensify, with totals between 100 and 250 mm, and some areas surpassing 400 mm.
“The more concerning is the eastern slope of the Hoang Lien Son range, which could experience extremely heavy rainfall,” said Mr. Lam.
