President Trump says US is exploring normalizing relations with Syria
(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump said Wednesday, after meeting with Syria’s Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa in Riyadh, that Washington is exploring normalizing ties with Syria.

At his summit with the Gulf Cooperation Council, President Trump said normalizing relations with Syria would start with a meeting with Syria’s interim president.
According to a White House statement, Mr. Trump urged Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharaa to “sign onto the Abraham Accords with Israel” and “assume responsibility for ISIS detention centers in northeast Syria.”
