“Early Summer Lotus IX” features 58 works by 36 artists using lacquer, oil on canvas, silk, watercolour, acrylic, and sculpture in styles from realism to abstract, traditional to contemporary.

Critics have noted the purity of the watercolor painting “Nine dragons bathing the Buddha” by Venerable Thich Tu Quang, the spiritual depth of the oil painting “Six-perfection mother Tara” by Nguyen Thi Nhan, and the powerful, liberating spirit conveyed in the abstract lacquer painting “Heavenly horse of Hương Sơn” by Nguyen Duc Quang. Other notable works are “Universal illumination of enlightenment” by Phan Thi Thanh Mai and “A single thought of Bodhi” by Tran Luu My.

Venerable Thich Tu Quang said: “During the Vesak celebration, this exhibition is an offering to the artistic garden of Buddhism. The works embody the spiritual values of Buddhism. The exhibition is highly welcomed by visitors.”

“Early Summer Lotus IX” is a space where fine arts and Buddhist teachings converge, conjuring a feeling of tranquility. Lan Anh, a visitor from Hanoi, said: “Buddhist art is a form of spiritual practice. The artists who create Buddhist-themed works often meditate deeply in order to infuse peace into their art. Buddhist paintings provide moments of stillness, allowing viewers to find calm as they contemplate the artworks.”

This exhibition brings Buddhist philosophy closer to the public, conveys a cultural message, and fosters spiritual connection.
