[VOVWORLD] - In a decade of implementing the Government’s Decree 55 on credit policies for agricultural and rural development, ethnic minority communities in Dak Lak province have gained greater access to capital to invest in farming and animal husbandry. The credit programs have helped many households stabilize their livelihood, escape poverty, and have supported more diversified and sustainable agriculture in the Central Highlands.

[VOVWORLD] - Phu My village in Tuy An Bac commune, Dak Lak province, specializes in weaving round bamboo basket boats. Once made exclusively for fishermen, the boats are now becoming very popular with tourists. This week, “Village Life” will explore Phu My’s unique craft and the culture of coastal communities.

[VOVWORLD] - Quang Tri is among the Vietnamese provinces frequently hit by natural disasters and severe flooding. Its varying terrain and multiple disaster risks require a variety of response strategies. Drawing on experience and with support from local authorities, communities are taking initiative to adapt to extreme weather, mitigate risks, and protect lives.

[VOVWORLD] - Xuan Dinh village in Xuan Dinh ward, one of Hanoi’s oldest traditional craft villages, is known for making confectionery for festive occasions and Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. As the full-moon festival approaches, the village is in full production mode making mooncakes, an autumn treat loved by Vietnamese families.

[VOVWORLD] - Quang Duc village in Dak Lak province, preserves traces of a pottery tradition that flourished for centuries. Ancient kilns, heirloom ceramic pieces kept by local families, and a distinctive glaze made with blood cockle shells define a distinctive ceramic style. Although the craft has faded out and its techniques are no longer passed down, the story of this pottery village that once thrived in central Vietnam remains a part of the region's cultural heritage.

[VOVWORLD] - Kim Lan pottery village, on the left bank of the Red River in Hanoi, is one of the ancient cradles of ceramics in the northern delta. Local artisans are working every day to preserve and build upon their traditional craft.

[VOVWORLD] - Stretching along the deep-blue coast beneath rows of pine trees, Xuan Yen fishing village in Tien Dien commune, Ha Tinh province, is known for its unspoiled, rustic, peaceful beauty. At dawn, the village comes alive to the rumble of boat engines returning after a long night at sea.

[VOVWORLD] - The rhythmic clack of wooden looms echoes in My Nghiep weaving village in Ninh Phuoc commune, Khanh Hoa province. Cham women are at their looms every day creating colorful brocade products. The local craft is adapting to changing market demands, supporting tourism, improving the Cham ethnic people’s livelihoods, and preserving their heritage.

[VOVWORLD] - For centuries, black anchovies have given Nam O fish sauce its distinctive rich flavor. Located at the foot of Hai Van Pass in Da Nang, Nam O village retains the rustic charm of an ancient fishing village where generations of locals have devoted themselves to making fish sauce.

[VOVWORLD] - These days, heavily laden melon vines in the high-tech melon-growing area of Thanh Minh hamlet, Tien Dien commune, Ha Tinh province, are drawing a steady stream of visitors. They come to tour the farms and buy melons directly from growers. Amid lush green rows, ripe yellow melons with a subtle, sweet aroma are ready for harvest. This new approach to agricultural production is helping local farmers increase their income and shift toward more sustainable farming practices.
