[VOVWORLD] - Oceans lie outside national borders and the challenges they face – pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss – can only be met by concerted international action. Vietnam is participating in and promoting international mechanisms for ocean governance and expanding cooperation to achieve sustainable marine development.

[VOVWORLD] - 100 years of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s leadership were reviewed and orientations for national development over the next century were discussed at a meeting in Hanoi on Thursday. The meeting also examined 40 years of implementing the Political Platform on National Construction during the Transition to Socialism. Nearly a century of leadership has provided Vietnam with lessons that are being drawn on as Vietnam enters a new stage of development.

[VOVWORLD] - Over the past two decades, the more than 6.5 million Vietnamese living abroad have become an important resource for national development. In addition to financial contributions, the overseas Vietnamese community with their valuable knowledge, expertise, experience, and international networks are being mobilized through multiple policies and mechanisms in sync with Vietnam’s development in the new era.

[VOVWORLD] - A national conference to study, disseminate, and implement recent resolutions and directives of the Politburo, was organized by the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on Thursday. It delivered important messages reflecting Vietnam’s strategic vision of national governance to strengthen the Party’s leadership capacity as Vietnam enters a new era of development.

[VOVWORLD] - Vietnam’s approach to overseas Vietnamese affairs has undergone a significant evolution, reflecting the shift from Politburo Resolution 36 adopted in 2004 to Resolution 23 issued earlier this month.

[VOVWORLD] - On August 19 Vietnam marked the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution. That revolution ended colonial and feudal rule and upheld the people’s right to life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness. Since that historic victory, the happiness of the people has remained a constitutional objective throughout Vietnam’s development.

[VOVWORLD] - Climate change, which used to be seen simply as an environmental issue, has become one of the greatest human rights challenges facing humanity in the 21st century. Conclusion No. 75, issued by the 14th Party Central Committee in July 2026, identifies environmental protection and climate change response as one of the pillars of national development in the new period. [VOVWORLD] - The protection of human rights in any country should be measured not only by its legal framework and international commitments, but also by the tangible benefits people experience in their everyday lives. In Vietnam, human rights alongside social progress and equity has long been a consistent guiding principle of the Party and the State.

[VOVWORLD] - In the digital era, human rights extend beyond the fundamental freedoms enshrined in the Constitution to encompass the right to access knowledge, protect personal data, benefit from scientific and technological advances, and enjoy equal opportunities for development. Recognizing these emerging needs, Vietnam has continued to refine its legal framework to ensure that every stage of national development is accompanied by stronger protection and promotion of human rights.

[VOVWORLD] - As the world becomes increasingly volatile and unpredictable, Vietnam must take proactive steps to prevent risks, strengthen resilience, and enhance its capacity to adapt. This was one of the key messages delivered by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam in his opening address at the 3rd Plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee.
