In addition to a parade at Ba Dinh Square, a series of celebratory events will be held, making Hanoi a hotspot for tourists during this period. According to travel companies, demand for tours during this year’s National Day holiday is 20–25% higher than last year.

Bui Thanh Tu, Marketing Director of Best Price Travel, said: “In previous years, travelers opted for outbound trips during this holiday, but this year they’re coming to Hanoi. This will be a boom time for the city’s tourism.”

Hotel bookings have increased 40–50%. Three-star and higher-rated hotels in the Old Quarter are reporting occupancy rates of 80–95%, with many downtown hotels already fully booked for the peak days from August 30 to September 3.

Pham Thi Thu Hien, Manager of the Skylark Hotel chain, said: “A big parade will be held on National Day, September 2, so many visitors have made early bookings. For September 1, bookings across our chain are up 70%. While we still have a small number of rooms available, August 30, August 31, and September 2 are fully booked.”

Hanoi is fully prepared to meet the holiday demand for accommodations, said Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

Giang said: “We’re asking hotels to improve facilities, maximize available rooms for guests, and, instead of raising prices, offer more promotions. Hanoi stands ready to welcome the flood of visitors. We’re developing contingency plans, encouraging local residents to accommodate visiting relatives or rent out rooms in their house at a reasonable rate to show the warm hospitality of Hanoians.”

This year’s National Day holiday is boosting domestic tourism numbers and affirming Hanoi’s appeal as a premier culture and history destination for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors.
