At a movement launch ceremony last Wednesday, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang said every Vietnamese citizen can become a “green soldier” on the environmental protection front. With nationwide solidarity, every small action combines into great strength.
“The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment calls on all people, agencies, organizations, and schools to join the Saturday morning clean-up drive as a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. I hope this movement will become a lifestyle, a habit, and a cultural and eco-friendly behavior for all citizens,” said Thang.
Practical initiatives have spread, such as streets of no smoke, no trash, no noise, and no encroachment; green spaces; the “Green Weekend” initiative; and tree-planting campaign.
