Four main ceremonial activities have been held at the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site from April 17 to 26, or from the first to the tenth day of the third lunar month.

They are incense offerings to the Hung Kings, the legendary founders of the Vietnamese nations, by communes and wards in Phu Tho; the commemoration of Father Lac Long Quan and incense offering to Mother Au Co; palanquin processions by local communities; and the main Hung Kings Commemoration ceremony on Sunday, April 26.

In addition, a floral tribute at the bas-relief titled “President Ho Chi Minh Talks with Officers and Soldiers of the Vanguard Army Corps” will be held on Sunday.

Many visitors will flock to the ancestral land a day or two before the main festival day on Sunday, the tenth day of the third lunar month.

The Phu Tho provincial police have rolled out traffic diversion plans and on key routes leading into the province and the Hung Temple Historical Site, the police have set up duty posts and installed signage to control the traffic flow.

Electricity and water utilities have been conducting inspections to ensure uninterrupted service during the festival.

Trieu Hai Dang, Head of the Utilities Management Team at the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site, said: “We’re on duty around the clock, ready to handle any incidents immediately, and coordinating with the Northern Power Unit in Viet Tri to ensure smooth operations.”

Phu Tho province has invested a great deal in tourist attractions since its administrative merger with Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh province last July.

Mr. Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “We’ve been focusing on leveraging the core cultural and historical values of Phu Tho since the merger and developing new tourism products that meet the needs of domestic and international visitors.”
