Under the theme “Thai Nguyen – The Finest Tea”, the festival will highlight the role of tea cultivation and the tea industry, celebrate tea’s historical, cultural, ecological, and economic values, and promote the Thai Nguyen tea brand.

Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the festival’s organizing committee, said: “Thanks to its soil and climate, Thai Nguyen has developed tea cultivation and a distinctive tea culture. We are very proud of our reputation as ‘Thai Nguyen – The Finest Tea’. This year is special as it marks the 195th anniversary of the province’s establishment. Through the festival, Thai Nguyen aims to honor tea plants, tea growers, artisans, tea cooperatives, and businesses and promote the Thai Nguyen tea brand.”

Organized by Thai Nguyen province in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this year’s festival will span a wide area, connecting Vo Nguyen Giap square and the central pedestrian street with famous tea-growing areas and traditional craft villages, including Tân Cương, Đồng Hỷ, La Bằng, Vô Tranh, and Đồng Phúc.

The program will include an International Tea Forum, tea tastings in tea-growing areas, a Heritage Train journey, dedicated spaces for tea, cuisine, exhibitions, and investment promotion, as well as art performances.

Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said tea embraces a tradition which represents Vietnam’s agricultural heritage, indigenous knowledge, and community culture. The festival is an opportunity to showcase to international friends Vietnam’s tea culture and advances in tea production.

Hang said: “The festival aims to unlock the economic potential of tea cultivation, promote economic diplomacy, and help Vietnam engage more deeply in global green value chains and supply chains. Amid the shift toward a green, circular economy, the tea industry has considerable room for growth. Through the festival we hope to promote Vietnam’s tea industry as one moving toward green and sustainable standards, and encouraging greater integration of Vietnamese agricultural products into sustainable green production chains.”

At the International Tea Forum, Vietnamese and international businesses and investors will discuss market expansion, technology adoption, tourism development, and brand building, while exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will officially announce its decision to inscribe the Thai Nguyen tea cultivation and processing knowledge into the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
