National radio stations of Vietnam and Cambodia sign agreement
(VOVworld) – A cooperative agreement between the Voice of Vietnam Radio, VOV, and Radio National Kampuchea, RNK, for the years 2013 to 2016 was signed by both General Directors in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Monday. Both broadcasters agreed to increase the airing programs on each other’s country’s politics, socio-economy, and culture. It will help to promote the two countries’ traditions in national construction and defense and enhance bilateral friendship and multi-dimensional cooperation. Both stations will exchange managers and reporters to share their expertise and reports. VOV is ready to help RNK with its radio network development plan to cover all Cambodian territories from the current coverage of 70%. VOV General Director Nguyen Dang Tien comments on the fresh agreement: "With this agreement, we are confident in the meaningful steps forward in cooperative friendly ties between the two national radio stations. Based on the broadened and more effective relations between the two countries, the cooperation between the Voice of Vietnam Radio and Radio National Kampuchea is flourishing."

Later the same day, VOV General Director Nguyen Dang Tien visited Cambodian Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith. On September 22nd, the delegation worked with representatives at the 5KW FM transmission station that VOV provided to Siem Riep province in March 2011. VOV Director General Nguyen Dang Tien is visiting Cambodia until Saturday at the invitation of his RNK counterpart Tan Yan.
