(VOVWORLD) - Winners of the program “Sounds of Brotherhood” were honored at a ceremony in Hanoi last month. Organized by the World Youth Orchestra Foundation and the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS), the program aims to promote creativity and innovation, support and develop expertise, facilitate connections and cooperation, and provide financial support to Vietnamese artists for their art projects.

In 3 months VICAS received 58 entries in the categories of Visual Arts, Music, and Theater. Eight outstanding works received awards.
In Visual Arts, the winners were “Good night” by Tran Thao Mien, “Bo” by Bui Bao Tram, “White coral” by Nguyen Thi My Dung. “Dream world” by Bui Duy Manh and Luu Trong Viet received the consolation prize.
In the Music category, awards went to “Ballet symphony Hoai Van Hau-Tran Quoc Toan” by Nguyen Ngoc Tu and “Dong Thap lotus fragrance” by visually impaired artist Nguyen An Nhu.
“I performed “Dong Thap lotus fragrance” on the 16-string zither. The piece was written by late People’s Teacher Xuan Khai. I hope this program will further promote Vietnam’s traditional music to the world and encourage young Vietnamese people to preserve our music and culture,” said Nhu.
In the Theater category, “Pantomime returns” by Nguyen Hoang Tung and “Body zero” by Tran Diem Phuong won awards.
“There are many talented artists of all ages across all fields of art in Vietnam. I hope this award will be expanded to more than 3 categories because art is incredibly rich and diverse. We should broaden the scope to include more art forms. These awards greatly encourage artists’ creativity,” said Tung.

Associate Professor. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong, Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies, praised the quality and creativity of this year’s entries, saying this competition is a real breakthrough.
“Young people have looked forward to sustainable values, explored their creativity, and fostered more enduring connections with the world. All the works in the competition convey the thoughts and lives of today’s youths,” said Phuong.
“We have cooperated with the Italian Embassy to create a cultural bridge, hoping to contribute to developing young Vietnamese talents,” said Meggie Nguyen Vu Hoang Minh, Director of Temix Space Vietnam, a sponsor of the program.
