The Politburo and the Secretariat have completed criticism and self-criticism among collectives and individuals. Doctor Nguyen Trong Phuc, Director of the Institute of Party history at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Administration, expressed his pleasure at the initial results of implementing the resolution.  Phuc said this is the strongest-ever party building yet with criticism and self-criticism being carried out with leaders and managers setting an example for their staff to follow: "Criticism and self-criticism must be attached to correctness and overcoming shortcomings practically. This means criticism and self-criticism must improve the Party’s ability and fighting capacity and reflect the efficiency of the management of the Party, State and authorities at all levels. The staff should follow the example of their leaders  in a creative manner rather than imitating them".

The people want Party committees at all levels to implement criticism and self-criticism frankly without ignoring issues of public concern. Doctor Duc Vuong, former head of the Department of Science Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Theoretical Council, said criticism and self-criticism must be carried out seriously and frankly instead of besmearing each other: "I think criticism and self-criticism must based on intelligence, honor and sentiment to help each other correct their mistakes and should be done frankly and precisely to assure unity in the Party. Criticism and self-criticism should be carried out comprehensively, synchronously, and combined with supervision".

Recalling the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh, that “ a party which hides its shortcomings is a failed party”, Nguyen Tuc, former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, suggested that it is necessary to identify those individuals and collectives who have a weakened ideology, morality or lifestyle to overcome. He added that there needs to be a mechanism for people to contribute their ideas on Party building, which will considerably help in criticism and self-criticism: "It is better to have others point out our mistakes. There should be a specific procedure for contributing their ideas on Party building so leaders can have a serious point of view. People should be kept up to date on the results of criticism and self-criticism".

Criticism and self-criticism among party members will continue until the end of the year.
