Help one another to overcome coronavirus impacts

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese government is calling on the public to help one another in the fight against Covid-19. The whole political system, ministries, sectors, localities, and people of all social strata are side by side combating the disease and keeping life stable.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front received more than 10 million USD from businesses, banks, social organizations, and individuals at the recent launch of a Covid-19 fundraising campaign. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc called on everyone, regardless of age or social class, Vietnamese people at home and abroad, businesses and social organizations, to contribute in cash or in kind to the fight.

Prime MInister Phuc said: “Meaningful acts come from the heart, regardless of age, income, qualifications, or position. In the most difficult and challenging periods, Vietnamese people uphold their national spirit and solidarity and help one another.”

Thousands of businesses, social organizations, and individuals inside and outside Vietnam have donated millions of dollars and medical equipment in response to the call of the Prime Minister and the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The donations have included bottles of hand sanitizer, facemasks, and instant noodles. Nguyen Khac Doi, Director General of the Golden Time Group, said the company’s employees have donated more than 5,500 protective suits to hospitals.

“Doctors and nurses are the frontliners in the fight against Covid-19. We want to share their burden. We will continue to contribute to community efforts and support the doctors in this fight,” said Doi.

The Vietnamese tradition of patriotism, solidarity, and helping one another is being strongly promoted during this difficult period. Solidarity, patriotism, and compassion make Vietnamese people confident of winning the battle against Covid-19.
