Leaders of the Viet-Trung Steel factory in Lao Cai province have worked with the local administration to help their workers exercise their right to vote. They have increased communications about the election, given workers ballots, and prepared scenarios for the election.

Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Chief of Office of the Viet-Trung Metallurgy and Mineral Company, said: 'We’re maintaining three shifts so workers can cast their ballot anytime between 7am and 3 pm. The workers are required to follow disease prevention measures when they go to the polling station.'

Over the past few days, fishermen in Quang Ngai province have been returning home for the election. The Ly Son wharf is packed with hundreds of vessels. Mai Phung Su, a fisherman from Dong An Hai village, Ly Son district, said, 'The election takes place every five years. There are 16 crewmembers on my vessel and we all came home for the election.'

Early voting will be held in 10 constituencies in remote parts of Binh Dinh province. Most voters in these areas are ethnic minority people.

Luong Dinh Tien, Chairman of the Van Canh district People’s Committee and Head of the District Election Committee, said, 'Canh Lien is a remote commune in Van Canh mountain district. The roads there are very difficult. Some villages are very far from the commune. It takes one day to get to the commune center. Local agencies have done all they can to make it easier to vote.'

The election of the National Assembly and People’s Councils is an important political event in Vietnam. Thorough preparations will make it a success.
