The Vietnam Women’s Award is the biggest annual award acknowledging female’s accomplishments. This year, 8 collectives and 10 women were honored for their outstanding performance and contributions to society. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union, says: “The award honors exemplary women and affirms women’s status in society. They are role models inspiring others to be more confident and work harder. The award promotes the role of women in the family and society and gender equality.”

The honored collectives include the female team of the Anaesthetic and Recuperation Department of Military Hospital 108, who have improved their profession to better serve patients and have engaged in charitable activities such as free medical check-ups for people in remote, isolated areas. Major Nguyen Thi Nga, chief nurse of the Anaesthetic and Recuperation Department, says: “We are in charge of various tasks such as assisting surgeons. We start working at 7:30 am and finish when the last surgical operation finishes. Our grandparents, husbands, and children help us a lot with the house work. My colleagues and I encourage each other to fulfill our tasks.”

The Vietnam Women’s Award acknowledges women who have inspired millions of others across the country to work harder for national development.
