(VOVWORLD) - Despite the ongoing prolonged heat wave that is baking the central region of Vietnam with daytime temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius, local labourers have no choice but to venture out to earn a living.

Over the past month, localities in the central region, especially Da Nang and Thua Thien-Hue, have experienced no rain. The heat wave, with daytime temperatures hitting approximately 40 degrees Celsius, has plunged local people’s life into chaos. |

Nam, a builder in Hue city, says his daily work usually starts at 7am and ends at 5pm.. “We stop working on rainy days and have to work hard to sunny days. Though it is hard, we have income. That’s life,” says the builder. |
