10.5 million tourists recorded in Vietnam during five-day holiday
(VOVWORLD) - Some 10.5 million tourists were reported during the past five-day holiday in Vietnam, a record number since the COVID-19 pandemic and an increase of more than 31% over the same period last year, said the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
Most tourist destinations across the country recorded a sharp increase of visitors –50 to 100% above the same period last year.
Ho Chi Minh City, where the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification took place on April 30, attracted more than 3 million visitors.
Other provinces and cities that welcomed more than one million visitors were Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, and Khanh Hoa.
Ho Chi Minh City led the country in tourism revenue, earning 580 million USD during the holiday.
