As a result, the total area affected by landmines nationwide has been reduced to 5.57 million hectares.

The figures were released at a conference held in Hanoi on Thursday to review efforts to address the consequences of landmines, unexploded ordnance, and dioxin contamination during the 2021-2025 period, and to outline key tasks and directions for 2026-2030.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Hoang Xuan Chien said it is necessary to expand cooperation with countries and international organizations to mobilize resources and new technologies, accelerate clearance activities, shorten timelines, and enhance the treatment of post-war chemical contamination, as well as medical support for victims.
